High School Football: Sept. 30

Northridge Football Central High School
The Central Falcons lost a hard fought 23-19 squeaker to Paul W. Bryant Stampede a week ago. Central played inspired and pushed the 6A Stampede to the limit as quarterback Aaron Hannible and Jhalen Caddell moved the ball through the air throughout the night. Justice Williams led the Falcons on the ground. This week Central takes their act on the road to take on the Jaguars of Sumter Central. The Falcons hold a 2-0 mark over the Jaguars including a 37-0 victory a year ago.

Northridge High School
The Northridge Jaguars will try to record region victory #2 on the season when they hit the road to take on the Selma Saints. Northridge averages 17 points per game on offense and Selma scores 13 a game. The Jaguars hold a 2-1 series advantage including a 14-7 win a year ago.

Paul W. Bryant High School
The Stampede face a stiff challenge as they travel to 6A Hillcrest to take on the top-ranked Patriots. Last week running back Gary Quarles picked up more than 150 yards rushing and two touchdowns. He also returned a kick for 6.  The Stampede is averaging 26 points per game on offense. They have surrendered an average of just 13 a contest over the last two weeks.
