RQMS Track and Field Athlete Tommy Danner Sets New State Record and Becomes National Leader after the First Meet of the Season
On Friday night at Hoover High School, RQMS 8th grader Tommy Danner accomplished something that most athletes could only dream about. In his third and final throw he shattered the previous middle school shot put state record of 41 feet with a 45 foot 3 inch throw. He then set out to break the discus record, which he surpassed in his first throw. That record stood at 129 feet and his throw measured in at 133 feet. Tommy became the current national leader as well in both events. He and the RQMS Track and Field team will showcase their skills again on March 7th at the Stampede Invitational at Bryant High School.
