The mission of Central High School’s Library Media Center is to be a source of service and learning, to encourage and promote reading for pleasure and information, to support the goals of our patrons, to provide technology opportunities, to practice life skills, and to uphold a positive atmosphere and learning community for all. 

The library media center is responsible for supplementing and supporting not only the curriculum, but every educational need at Central High School.  It also provides access to every student, regardless of ability or socioeconomic background, to a variety of materials that are appealing, diverse, and representative of different views.  It is responsible for developing and maintaining a collection that not only promotes literacy and the development of confident, self-directed, life-long learners, but also one that cultivates an appreciation of reading for intellectual and personal growth, as well as for aesthetic value.
